There was no surprise in Manama where 9th ranked Al-Bahrain (1-4) was crushed by seventh ranked Al-Hala (3-2) 91-69. Al-Hala players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Jordanian Ahmed Jamal (-87) nailed 32 points and 7 assists for the winning side and American-Lebanese center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona) accounted for 26 points and 14 rebounds. Four Al-Hala players scored in double figures. American forward Merrill Holden (203-93, college: Iowa St., agency: SDJ Sports) came up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds and Palestinian Mohammed Khalili (-89) added 11 points and 7 assists respectively for Al-Bahrain in the defeat. Al-Bahrain's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Al-Hala moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Al-Ittihad. Al-Bahrain at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with four games lost. Al-Hala will have a break next round. Al-Bahrain's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Manama to the arena Samaheej.
