The game in was also quite interesting. 5th ranked Al-Hala (14-8) played at the court of sixth ranked Al-Riffa (14-8). Al-Riffa managed to secure a 4-point victory 91-87 on Sunday. Al-Riffa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points, 23 rebounds and 5 assists and Redha Shams who added 11 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 6 steals during the contest. Al-Riffa's coach Toni Vujanic used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was American-Lebanese center Loren Woods (218-78, college: Arizona) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 24 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 blocks and Hasan Gerashi scored 22 points and 4 assists. Four Al-Riffa and five Al-Hala players scored in double figures. Al-Riffa have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with defeated Al-Hala. Al-Riffa will meet at home Isa Town (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Al-Hala will play against Sitra (#10) and hope to secure a win.
