Regular Season Round 23: COR-Borisfen - RCOP Tsmoki 97-74

Date: January 12, 2018
There was no surprise in Mogilev where 10th ranked RCOP Tsmoki (2-18) was crushed by third ranked COR-Borisfen (17-2) 97-74 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by COR-Borisfen. RCOP Tsmoki managed to win third quarter 21-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. COR-Borisfen forced 24 RCOP Tsmoki turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for American point guard Alex Strauther (177, college: CS Dominguez H.) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Russian Benjamin-Pavel Dudu (200-91, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) helped adding 13 points and 9 rebounds. Herman Plotnikau (193-0) responded with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Daniil Barysevich (191-1) scored 13 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for COR-Borisfen. They maintain third place with 17-2 record having 2 victories less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk. Newly promoted RCOP Tsmoki stay dead last with 18 lost games. COR-Borisfen will again meet at home bottom-ranked RCOP Tsmoki (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. RCOP Tsmoki will have a break next round.
