Regular Season Round 10: SDUSHOR - Gomel 2 86-37

SDUSHOR's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Gomel 2 (0-3) 86-37 on Sunday. SDUSHOR held Gomel 2 to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 48.1 percent accuracy of the winners. SDUSHOR forced 27 Gomel 2 turnovers and outrebounded them 62-23 including a 27-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Gomel 2's players. Zahar Pryima (-2006) notched 14 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals to lead the effort and Matvey Yagutko (-2007) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds. Five SDUSHOR players scored in double figures. Even 16 points and 5 rebounds by Ivan Polyakov (-2007) did not help to save the game for Gomel 2. Georgy Korolenok added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. SDUSHOR (1-3) left bottom position moving up to sixth place. It was Gomel 2's third loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with three games lost. SDUSHOR will meet higher ranked Brest (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Gomel 2 will play against Tsmoki-Minsk U20 and hopes to get finally their first victory.
