Second Stage Round 4: Gorizont - BC Minsk 85-65

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Minsk:Gorizont (#1) and BC Minsk (#2). Gorizont (11-1) smashed visiting BC Minsk (11-2) by 20 points 85-65 . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Gorizont dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to BC Minsk 's 18. They outrebounded BC Minsk 34-23 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Gorizont especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 71.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Yanina Inkina (186-1997, college: UALR, agency: Tolakh Tsimur) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and American guard Donica Cosby (172-1988, college: Okla City) who added 10 points and 6 assists during the contest. Gorizont's coach Nataliya Trafimava used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Aleksandra Iakubovich (173-2003) responded with 12 points and Alena Tsitavets (180-2003) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gorizont have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Defending champion BC Minsk keeps the second place with two games lost.
