There was no surprise in Grodno where 8th rankedGomel (1-18) was defeated by sixth ranked Olimpia 2 (6-13) 65-53 on Wednesday. Olimpia 2 forced 35 Gomel turnovers. Strangely Gomel outrebounded Olimpia 2 69-45 including a 31-12 advantage in offensive rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Olimpia 2 made 10 blocks. Forward Maria Novik (181-2010) scored 6 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Daria Trus (188-2008) chipped in 8 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Olimpia 2's coach Viktoryia Datsun used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was forward Ksenia Sholomitskaya (178-2007) with a triple-double by scoring 12 points and 23 rebounds and forward Alina Vlasiuk (174-2002) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds. Olimpia 2 maintains sixth position with 6-13 record. Gomel lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games.
