Rather expected game when 8th rankedGomel (1-21) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Olimpia 2 (8-14) 52-46 on Monday. Olimpia 2 held Gomel to an opponent 18.9 percent shooting from the field compared to 33.3 percent accuracy of the winners. Olimpia 2 forced 25 Gomel turnovers. Strangely Gomel outrebounded Olimpia 2 49-37 including a 24-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Varvara Pleskachevskaya (171-2009) who scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Ulyana Paley (183-2009) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Karina Kurstak (170-2005) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and forward Daria Garbuzova (180-2006) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Olimpia 2 maintains sixth place with 8-14 record. Gomel lost their eighth game in a row. They stay dead last with 21 lost games.
