Regular Season Round 2: Vivo/Franca - Brasilia 81-73

First defeat of Brasilia (1-1) against Vivo/Franca (2-0) 81-73 was the most important game of the last round. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Brasilia won third quarter 23-12. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Vivo/Franca won last quarter 25-18. They also forced 20 Brasilia turnovers. Argentinian point guard Juan Pablo Figueroa (185-86, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 10 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Power forward Lucas Mariano (208-93) contributed with 15 points for the winners. International Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80, agency: Interperformances) replied with 27 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American swingman Darington Hobson (201-87, college: N.Mexico) added 11 points in the effort for Brasilia. Five Vivo/Franca and four Brasilia players scored in double figures. Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Brasilia will play next round against Unitri trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Vivo/Franca will try to continue on its current victory against Flamengo in Rio de Janeiro.
