Regular Season Round 4: Contagem - Joinville 60-56

Very significant was Contagem's (#2, 6-2) victory against one of their biggest challengers Joinville (3-3) 60-56. Contagem forced 26 Joinville turnovers. The winners were led by guard Junio Dos-Santos (192-95) who scored that evening 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Everton Oliveira (203-93) supported him with 13 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Even 15 points by point guard Jeferson Froehlich (193-91) did not help to save the game for Joinville. Naturalized Spanish center Jose-Victor Jeronimo (208-91) added 10 points and 7 rebounds for lost side. Joinville's coach George Salles tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Contagem maintains second position with 6-2 record behind leader Botafogo F.R. Joinville at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Contagem will play against Blumenau (#4) in the next round. Joinville will play against Brusque and hopes to get back on the winning track.
