Regular Season Round 10: Campinas - SBC/Brazolin/UNIP 98-46

LBF top team - Campinas (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed sixth ranked SBC/Brazolin/UNIP (3-6) 98-46. Campinas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to SBC/Brazolin/UNIP's 28. They outrebounded SBC/Brazolin/UNIP 52-31 including a 39-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Argentinian point guard Melisa Gretter (161-93, agency: ProDep Management) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. Swingman Ariadna Felipe (179-83) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Campinas players scored in double figures. Campinas' coach Carlos Vendramini felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Thayna Silva (180-96) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and the former international forward Julia Pereira (182-88) added 17 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for SBC/Brazolin/UNIP. Campinas have an impressive nine-game winning streak. Newly promoted Campinas maintains first position with 9-0 record. SBC/Brazolin/UNIP lost fourth consecutive game. SBC/Brazolin/UNIP at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the seventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Funvic/Ituano. Campinas are looking forward to face Pres.Valceslau (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite. SBC/Brazolin/UNIP will play against Blumenau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
