Very expected game in Plovdiv where 9th rankedShumen (2-20) was defeated by fifth ranked Akademik (11-10) 84-69 . Akademik made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. The winners were led by Bosnian center Obrad Tomic (208-1993, agency: PEPI SPORT) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 22 points and 16 rebounds and swingman Aleksandar Matushev (197-2000) supported him with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Akademik P. players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 18 points and 11 rebounds by American-Nigerian Rey Idowu (207-1999, college: Tulsa) did not help to save the game for Shumen . Guard Kostadin Lazarov (193-2000, agency: BIG) added 13 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Akademik maintains fifth position with 11-10 record. Shumen lost sixth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 20 lost games.
