The game had a very big importance for second-ranked SlovakianRuzomberok as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Ruzomberok defeated their close opponent Czech Hradec Kralove at home 81-73 . It was a key game for the top position in the league. Ruzomberok made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American forward Zoesha Smith (185, college: Georgia Tech) fired 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Czech point guard Andrea Andelova (171-1994) chipped in 16 points. Slovakian Natalia Martiskova (170-1999) produced 17 points and 4 assists and center Eliska Halova (180-2001) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ruzomberok (5-1) have an impressive five-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with defeated Hradec Kralove.
