The game had a very big importance for Colo Colo as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Colo Colo smashed bottom-ranked Puente Alto in Santiago 82-63. Colo Colo forced 22 Puente Alto turnovers and had a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American swingman O'Louis McCullough (198-82, college: Francis Marion) orchestrated the victory by scoring 32 points and 8 rebounds. The former international point guard Erik Carrasco (181-83) contributed with 10 points and 7 assists for the winners. Four Colo Colo players scored in double figures. Colo Colo's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Dazmond Starke (201-90, college: Ky Wesleyan) answered with 28 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import center Gene Shipley (206-80, college: Brandon) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Puente Alto. Colo Colo have a solid series of four victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Los Leones. Puente Alto at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with CDU Catolica.
