Regular Season Round 4: CD Castro - CDU Catolica 72-54

Bottom-ranked Universidad Catolica (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 72-54 loss to second ranked CD Castro (3-1) in Castro on Sunday evening. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks and the other American import forward Terrance Thomas (198-80, college: Baylor, agency: Interperformances) who added 6 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Brandon Crawford (201-84, college: Albion) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Anthony Gonzalez scored 4 points and 7 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. CD Castro maintains second position with 3-1 record behind leader Los Leones, which they share with Las Animas. Loser Universidad Catolica still closes the standings with five games lost. CD Castro will meet at home bottom-ranked Puerto Montt (#12) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Universidad Catolica will play against Espanol de Talca and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
