Regular Season Round 24: Las Animas - CD Castro 80-72

Rather predictable result when fifth ranked Las Animas (13-12) won against 8th ranked CD Castro (12-14) in Valdivia 80-72 on Wednesday. Las Animas made 16-of-17 free shots (94.1 percent) during the game. It was a good game for American center Terrell Taylor (203-81, college: Virginia Tech, agency: DTMones) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 14 rebounds. The former international point guard Franco Morales (179-92) contributed with 17 points and 8 assists for the winners. American forward Tyrone Lee (204-90, college: Grand Valley St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 13 rebounds and the former international point guard Gonzalo Velasquez (185-81) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for CD Castro. Despite that victory Las Animas went down to seventh position due to points difference. CD Castro lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighth place with 14 games lost. Las Animas will face Puente Alto (#10) on the road in the next round. CD Castro will play against Universidad de Concepcion and hope to win that game.
