Regular Season Round 29: Las Animas - CD Castro 77-73

The game between Top Four teams took place in Valdivia. First ranked host Las Animas (23-7) defeated 4th placed CD Castro (11-19) 77-73. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of CD Castro. Las Animas dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to CD Castro's 28. American-Puerto Rican guard Wil Martinez (188-92, college: Fairmont St.) answered with 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!) and American forward Rakim Brown (198-91, college: Humboldt St.) added 13 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for CD Castro. Las Animas maintains first place with 23-7 record. CD Castro at the other side keeps the fourth position with 19 games lost. Las Animas' next round opponent will be league's second-placed AB Ancud at home and it will be for sure the game of the week. CD Castro will play against Osorno Basquetbol and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
