Regular Season Round 4: Piratas - Cimarrones 60-81

Date: April 9, 2016
Leader Cimarrones delivered the third victory on Saturday night. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Piratas (0-4) 81-60 in Bogota. They outrebounded Piratas 50-35 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of American forward Tyquane Goard (201-93, college: Marshall) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points and 18 rebounds and the former international point guard Rodrigo Caicedo (180-88) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Five Cimarrones players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Arnold Fripp (201-93, college: Coppin St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and point guard David Hernandez (172-96) scored 13 points and 6 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cimarrones maintains first position with 3-1 record, which they share with Condores and Academia. Loser Piratas still closes the standings with four games lost. Cimarrones will meet at home Patriotas (#4) in the next round. Piratas will play against Academia (#3) and hope to get finally their first victory.
