Regular Season Round 5: Condores - Sabios 84-75

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Condores (4-1) beat 7th ranked Sabios (1-4) in Cundinamarca 84-75 on Monday. They outrebounded Sabios 45-34 including 32 on the defensive glass. American forward Byron Westmorland (193-90, college: Bowie St.) nailed 23 points and 7 assists for the winning side and the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) accounted for 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Condores players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) came up with 26 points and 5 assists and the former international center John Hernandez (207-84) added 17 points and 14 rebounds respectively for Sabios in the defeat. Condores keep a position of league leader, which they share with Cimarrones and Academia. Sabios lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with four games lost. Condores will again meet at home Sabios (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Sabios will have a break next round.
