Regular Season Round 4: Sabios - Fast Break 81-71

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of undefeated Fast Break (1-1) in Manizales. Visitors were defeated by Sabios (3-1) 81-71. Sabios dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Fast Break's 30. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 9 rebounds and 11 assists and Canadian guard Shamar Coombs (185-86, college: Texas A&M-CC) who added 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Sabios players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sabios keep a position of league leader, which they share with Condores. Newly promoted Fast Break dropped to the fifth place with one game lost. Sabios will play against Cimarrones (#3) in Quibdo-Choco in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Fast Break will play at home against the league's leader Condores to get more than just one victory in their record.
