Regular Season Round 27: Aguilas - Sabios 88-74

Bottom-ranked Patriotas managed to get a sixth victory, breaking the series of eight consecutive losses. This time they won against seventh-ranked Sabios in Boyaca 88-74. They outrebounded Sabios 46-35 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Patriotas brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for American Karl Moore (203-87, college: Culver Stockton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 20 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Frisco Sandidge (198-87, college: Delaware St.) contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Five Patriotas players scored in double figures. Patriotas' coach Kevin Magdowski allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Forward John Velez (202-83, college: TCU) answered with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized American guard Ricardo Rivera (190-91, college: Voorhees) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists in the effort for Sabios. Patriotas maintains eighth place with 6-21 record. Sabios lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with 18 games lost. Patriotas' next round opponent will be again higher ranked Sabios (#7) in Manizales and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
