The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th rankedAPOEL 's (2-4) road loss to fourth ranked AEL (5-2) 73-99 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by AEL. APOEL managed to win second period 24-20 . But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AEL dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to APOEL 's 28. AEL looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. It was a great evening for forward Tyrn Bryan Flowers (206-1998, college: LIU Brooklyn) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 40 points (!!!), 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Shamar Givance (179-1999, college: UTEP) helped adding 31 points and 8 assists (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). AEL's coach Kalia Papadopoulou felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Al-Amir Dawes (188-2001, college: Seton Hall) responded with 22 points and guard Trey Pulliam (190, college: SDSU) scored 13 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Five APOEL players scored in double figures. AEL moved-up to third place. APOEL lost their third game in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Apollon.
