The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Metros STGO as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Metros STGO defeated 8th ranked Soles SD in Santiago 110-96. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 10-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 110-96. Metros STGO made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Point guard Adris De-Leon (180-84, college: E.Washington) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 assists for the winners and American Robert Glenn (203-89, college: IUPUI) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Manuel Guzman (204-82, college: Bemidji St.) responded with 23 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ramon Ruiz (188-83) scored 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Metros STGO and four Soles SD players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Metros STGO have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Indios SFM. Soles SD lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. Soles SD will play next round against Leones SD trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santo Domingo - Leones SD. Metros STGO will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Indios SFM in San Francisco.
