An interesting game for Metros STGO (5-7) which hosted in Santiago one of their biggest challengers Caneros Del Este (4-9). Third ranked Metros STGO had an easy win 93-77. The game without a history. Metros STGO led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 25-of-28 free shots (89.3 percent) during the game. Metros STGO looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Metros STGO made 7 blocks. The winners were led by American forward Jerome Frink (201-93, college: LIU Brooklyn) who scored that evening 16 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import swingman JJ Moore (198-91, college: Rutgers) supported him with 20 points. Four Metros STGO players scored in double figures. Even 22 points by American guard Keith Appling (185-92, college: Michigan St., agency: Basket Management Solutions) did not help to save the game for Caneros Del Este. Naturalized Spanish center Jhonatan Araujo (208-96, agency: Basket Management Solutions) added 11 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains third position with 5-7 record having four points less than leader Indios SFM. Caneros Del Este lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with nine games lost. Metros STGO will meet league's leader Indios SFM in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Caneros Del Este will play against the league's leader Soles SD and hope to secure a win.
