But Parnu was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Tallinn 78-72 on Friday night. The guests trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 78-72. TLU/Kalev made 24-of-29 free shots (82.8 percent) during the game. Strangely Parnu outrebounded TLU/Kalev 40-27 including 26 on the defensive glass. Parnu was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Senegalese center Bamba Fall (217-86, college: SMU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and the former international point guard Kristo Saage (186-85) chipped in 10 points. Four TLU/Kalev players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Mihkel Kirves (190-96) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Sten Saaremael (186-99) scored 20 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. TLU/Kalev will have a break next round. Parnu will play on the road against Kalev/Cramo (#1) in Tallinn and hope to win that game.
