Regular Season Round 3: Sosnowiec - Ferrol 83-90

Polish Sosnowiec (2-1) recorded a loss at the home court. Hosts were defeated by Spanish Ferrol (3-0) 90-83. Ferrol players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Irish forward Claire Melia (190-1999, college: St.Joseph's) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. accounted for 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American guard Sydney Taylor (175-2001, college: Louisville) came up with 27 points and Croatian point guard Matea Tadic (176-1999) added 4 points, 8 rebounds and 12 assists respectively for Sosnowiec in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Ferrol will play against Benfica (#49) in Lisbon in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Sosnowiec will play at home against SBS Ostrava (#48) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
