Venezia outrebounded Schio 40-28 including 25 on the defensive glass. American forward Joyner Holmes (191-1998, college: Texas) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Lorela Cubaj (190-1999, college: Georgia Tech) contributed with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Slovenian-American forward Jessica Shepard (193-1996, college: Notre Dame) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and Spanish forward Maria Conde (185-1997, college: FSU) added 2 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Schio. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
