Regular Season Round 27: Kouvot - Salon Vilpas 66-65

Important game to mention about took place in Kouvola. Seventh ranked Kouvot (10-14) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 9th ranked Salon Vilpas (9-16) 66-65 in the game for the seventh place. It looked good early as Salon Vilpas took an 8-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kouvot took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 1 point. Kouvot forced 19 Salon Vilpas turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. It was an exceptional evening for guard Antoine Jordan (196-83, college: Siena) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Anthony Brown (203-86, college: Oklahoma St., agency: KMG Sports Management) accounted for 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and forward John Fields (205-88, college: Tennessee) added 8 points and 15 rebounds respectively for Salon Vilpas in the defeat. Kouvot maintains seventh place with 10-14 record. Salon Vilpas lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with 16 games lost. They share it with KTP and Korihait. Kouvot will play against league's leader Joensuun Kataja on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Salon Vilpas will have a break next round.
