Second Stage Round 3: Kouvot - ToPo 105-74

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Torpan Pojat (18-2) in Kouvola on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Kouvottaret (15-5) 105-74. Kouvot made 16-of-16 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was a great evening for American guard ReShawna Stone (168, college: Buffalo) who led her team to a victory scoring 30 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!). Her fellow American import guard Chanin Scott (183-1998, college: NC A&T) helped adding 31 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-1977, college: Xavier) with 17 points and 8 rebounds and Canadian point guard Kali Pocrnic (160) scored 17 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Kouvottaret are looking forward to face PeKa in Kotka in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Torpan Pojat will play at home against Pyrinto and is hoping to win this game.
