Second Stage Round 4: ToPo - Pyrinto 73-63

LeaderToPo delivered the nineteenth victory. This time they beat 5th ranked Tampereen Pyrinto (10-12) 73-63 in Helsinki. ToPo made 17-of-18 charity shots (94.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Pyrinto turnovers. ToPo brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Carmen Tyson-Thomas (175-1991, college: Syracuse) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 15 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!). The former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-1977, college: Xavier) contributed with 6 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Mari Stewart (183-1996, college: WVWC) replied with 18 points and 8 rebounds and international power forward Saana Kujala (184-2002) added 18 points in the effort for Pyrinto. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending champion maintains first position with 19-2 record. Pyrinto at the other side keeps the fifth place with 12 games lost.
