There was no surprise when 9th ranked Vimpelin Veto (5-19) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Espoo Team (13-10) 96-78. Espoo Team made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 29 ViVe turnovers. It was a very good performance for point guard Erika Mace (177-2007) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 assists and 7 steals. Forward Nicole Ogun (185-2007) contributed with 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Naomi Davenport (180, college: WVU) answered with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks and the other American import forward Shyia Smith (180, college: UT Arlington) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for ViVe. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Espoo Team have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain sixth place with 13-10 record. ViVe at the other side keeps the ninth position with 19 games lost. Espoo Team will play against BC Nokia (#8) at home in the next round. ViVe will play against FoA and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
