Top rankedToPo (22-4) recorded its fourth loss in Helsinki on Saturday night. Hosts were rolled over by second ranked Peli-Karhut (21-5) 90-70 . It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. PeKa made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 ToPo turnovers. PeKa looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international Anissa Pounds (174-1990, college: Arkansas Tech) fired 25 points, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. American guard Lauren Heard (175-1999, college: TCU) chipped in 18 points. Four Peli-Karhut players scored in double figures. Peli-Karhut's coach Roope Makela used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. International guard Magdalene Agyei (177-1999) produced 17 points and 7 rebounds and the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-1977, college: Xavier) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for lost side. Peli-Karhut have a solid four-game winning streak. PeKa maintains second position with 21-5 record having just five point less than leader ToPo. Defending champion ToPo still keeps top place with four games lost.
