Regular Season Round 21: ViVe - Pyrinto 74-82

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vimpeli. Third ranked Tampereen Pyrinto faced second-best Vimpelin Veto. Guests from Tampere (15-5) defeated host Vimpelin Veto (14-5) 82-74. It was a key game for the second position in the league. American center Stephanie McBride (185, college: Bridgeport) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and forward Annika Aarrejoki (180-2004) chipped in 23 points and 5 rebounds. Four Tampereen Pyrinto players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Jeanae Terry (155-2001, college: Purdue) with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import swingman Sara Puckett (188-2002, college: Tennessee) scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. Pyrinto moved-up to second place. Loser Vimpelin Veto dropped to the third position with five games lost. Pyrinto will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. ViVe will play against Honka in Espoo and hope to secure a win.
