The game had a very big importance for fifth-ranked Chalon/Saor as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Chalon/Saor defeated bottom-ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque at home 77-73. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Chalon/Saor looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Swingman Blake Schilb (200-83, college: Loyola, IL, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) stepped up and scored 17 points and 7 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners and guard Malcolm Delaney (191-89, college: Virginia Tech) chipped in 12 points and 8 assists. Four Chalon/Saor players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward J.K. Edwards (202-82, college: UNLV, agency: Hoops Ambassadors) responded with 19 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and guard Juby Johnson (196-81, college: Miami, OH) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 7 other teams. Gravelines-Dunkerque at the other side still closes the standings with one game lost. They share the position with 7 other teams. Gravelines-Dunkerque will play next round against Chorale de Roanne trying to get back on the winning streak. Chalon/Saor will try to continue on its current victory against sixteenth ranked Entente Orleans 45 on the road.
