Regular Season Round 11: Hyeres-Toulon - Le Mans 79-101

There was no surprise when 15th ranked Hyeres-Toulon (2-9) was outplayed at home by fifth ranked Le Mans (8-3) 101-79 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Le Mans. Hyeres-Toulon managed to win third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Le Mans dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Hyeres-Toulon's 48. The best player for the winners was American point guard Taylor Rochestie (185-85, college: Washington St.) who scored 29 points and 9 assists (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Brazilian power forward Joao Paulo Batista (207-81, college: Gonzaga) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Naturalized American guard Shaun Fein (191-78, college: Georgia Tech) produced 18 points and American power forward Thomas Terrell (201-79, college: Georgia St.) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the hosts. Five Le Mans and four Hyeres-Toulon players scored in double figures. Le Mans moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Paris-Levallois. Hyeres-Toulon lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifteenth position with nine games lost. They share it with Poitiers. Le Mans will meet Strasbourg IG (#10) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hyeres-Toulon will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#6) and hope to secure a win.
