Regular Season Round 7: St Chamond - Lourdes 93-72

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Saint Chamond (6-1) smashed at home 11th ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (3-4) 93-72 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 11-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-72. Saint Chamond looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Forward Jean-Stephane Rinna (205-83) fired 14 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Cuban power forward Grismay Paumier (203-88) chipped in 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Five Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Coach Alain Thinet's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The former international guard Xane Dalmeida (183-83) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists and Lithuanian-American guard Andrius Ragauskas (189-79, college: CS Los Angeles) added 16 points respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Saint Chamond. They maintain second place with 6-1 record behind leader Angers BC. Newly promoted Lourdes-Tarbes dropped to the twelfth position with four games lost. Saint Chamond will face Montbrison (#15) on the road in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Lourdes-Tarbes will play against ADA Blois and hope to win that game.
