Regular Season Round 34: Rouen - Nantes 85-73

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 14th ranked Nantes (13-21) was defeated on the road by fifteenth ranked SPO Rouen (13-21) 85-73 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by SPO Rouen. Nantes was better in third quarter 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American Marvin Phillips (201-83, college: Claflin) fired 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) for the winners. Naturalized Portuguese guard Philippe Da Silva (191-79) chipped in 9 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists. SPO Rouen's coach Laurent Sciarra used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American Allen Durham (198-88, college: Grace Bible) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds and his fellow American import center Todd O'Brien (213-89, college: UAB) added 20 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. SPO Rouen moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with defeated Nantes. SPO Rouen will face higher ranked Poitiers (#10) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
