Rather expected game when 13th ranked Cholet Basket (6-8) was crushed on the road by tenth ranked SPO Rouen (8-6) 98-66 on Tuesday. The game without a history. SPO Rouen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American guard Daequan Cook (195-87, college: Ohio St.) scored 22 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Sean May (206-84, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Five SPO Rouen players scored in double figures. Power forward Yannis Morin (208-93) responded with 14 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and the former international point guard Jonathan Rousselle (187-90) scored 8 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SPO Rouen moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Le Mans. Loser Cholet Basket dropped to the twelfth position with eight games lost. SPO Rouen will face higher ranked Strasbourg IG (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cholet Basket will play against Entente Orleans 45 (#16) and hope to win that game.
