Regular Season Round 17: St Chamond - Provence Basket 87-89

Important game to mention about took place in Saint Chamond. Ninth ranked Provence Basket (9-8) saved a 2-point victory on the road edging 15th ranked Saint Chamond (7-10) 89-87 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests trailed by 1 point after three quarters before their 28-25 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Saint Chamond was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (203-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 33 points (!!!) (perfect behind the arc making all five shots). American swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) chipped in 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Pierre Pelos (205-92) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) added 14 points and 6 assists respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saint Chamond's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Provence Basket moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Newly promoted Saint Chamond keeps the fifteenth position with ten games lost. Provence Basket will face Lille Metropole (#17) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them.
