Regular Season Round 23: CFBB - Lourdes 39-103

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-24) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 103-39 loss to fifth ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (16-7) in Paris. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. The game without a history. Lourdes-Tarbes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding CFBB to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Lourdes-Tarbes dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 24. Lourdes-Tarbes forced 28 CFBB turnovers and outrebounded them 38-26 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 33 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by CFBB's players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Masse Doumbe (203-87, college: Kaiser, agency: Octagon Europe) who led the winners and scored 23 points and 9 rebounds. The former international point guard Xane Dalmeida (181-83) accounted for 12 points, 12 assists and 4 steals for the winning side. Five Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. Jaylen Hoard (202-99) came up with 9 points and guard Sofiane Briki (190-99) added 9 points respectively for CFBB in the defeat. CFBB's coach Jean-Aime Toupane gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Lourdes-Tarbes have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Maurienne. CFBB at the other side still closes the standings. Lourdes-Tarbes' next round opponent will be Mulhouse Basket (#13) at home which should be another easy win for them. CFBB will play against Rueil (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
