Regular Season Round 24: Rueil - CFBB 82-70

Bottom-ranked CFBB is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 25th consecutive match to fourth ranked Rueil (16-8) 82-70 on Saturday evening. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-70. Rueil dominated on the defensive end, holding CFBB to just 4 points in third quarter. They outrebounded CFBB 42-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by swingman Lamine Sambe (188-89) who scored that evening 18 points and 5 assists and power forward Alexis Auburtin (202-94) supported him with 11 points and 9 rebounds. Even 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by swingman Sekou Omar Doumbouya (200-0) did not help to save the game for CFBB. Point guard Yanik Blanc (184-99) added 10 points and 7 assists (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four CFBB players scored in double figures. Rueil moved-up to third place, which they share with Maurienne. Loser CFBB still closes the standings. Rueil will meet Mulhouse Basket (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. CFBB will play against Vendee Challans (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
