Very predictable result when second ranked ALM Evreux (14-6) beat at home 16th ranked Saint Chamond (8-12) 98-81 on Friday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. ALM Evreux looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Joe Burton (201-90, college: Oregon St.) who scored 9 points, 15 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. The other American import guard B.A. Walker (188-84, college: VCU) chipped in 24 points and 4 assists. Power forward Pierre Pelos (205-92) produced 12 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Dustin Salisbery (193-84, college: Temple) added 15 points respectively for the guests. Four Saint Chamond players scored in double figures. Saint Chamond's coach tested ten players seeing no chance for a win. ALM Evreux have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-6 record behind leader Hyeres-Toulon. Newly promoted Saint Chamond dropped to the fifteenth place with 12 games lost. ALM Evreux will face Boulazac Basket (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Saint Chamond will play against Lille Metropole (#15) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
