There was an upset when higher ranked Boulazac Basket (10-10) was defeated on the road by seventeenth ranked Lille Metropole (8-12) 83-71 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 14 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 12 points. The best player for the winners was American point guard Tajuan Porter (170-88, college: Oregon) who scored 28 points. Naturalized Burkinabe Jean-Victor Traore (204-85) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Four Lille Metropole players scored in double figures. American power forward Franklin Hassell (203-88, college: ODU, agency: Inception Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and power forward Alexis Tanghe (206-90) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Lille Metropole moved-up to fifteenth place, which they share with Roanne and St Chamond. Loser Boulazac Basket keeps the eighth position with ten games lost. Lille Metropole will face Saint Chamond (#16) on the road in the next round.
