Regular Season Round 10: Caen - CFBB 86-54

Bottom-ranked CFBB (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 86-54 loss to fifth ranked Caen (7-3) in Caen on Tuesday evening. The game without a history. Caen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 16. Caen forced 23 CFBB turnovers and outrebounded them 35-19 including a 24-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by CFBB's players. Center Moustapha Diarra (204-87, college: USF) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Bryson Pope (198-90, college: Kent St.) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Caen players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Nicolas Dorez (199-99) responded with 11 points and guard Theo Maledon (191-1) scored 7 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Caen have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Vitre. CFBB at the other side still closes the standings with ten games lost. Caen will meet Gries/Oberhoffen (#17) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. CFBB will play against UB Chartres and hopes to get finally their first victory.
