Regular Season Round 10: Provence Basket - Roanne 98-90

Undefeated leader Provence Basket delivered the tenth consecutive victory on Friday night. This time they beat 7th ranked Chorale de Roanne (5-5) 98-90 in Fos-sur-Mer. Chorale de Roanne trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 16 after three quarters before a 26-18 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 90-98 at the end of the game. Provence Basket outrebounded Chorale de Roanne 40-24 including 28 on the defensive glass. American-Nigerian Derrick Obasohan (198-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: BeoBasket) scored 30 points to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Senegalese power forward Mamadou Dia (201-78) chipped in 19 points during the contest. Provence Basket's coach Remi Giutta used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side naturalized Serbian power forward Alexandre Gavrilovic (208-91, college: Towson) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and point guard Arthur Rozenfeld (178-95) scored 17 points and 6 assists. Four Chorale de Roanne players scored in double figures. Provence Basket (10-0) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. Chorale de Roanne lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth place with five games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Provence Basket will meet Boulazac Basket (#13) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Chorale de Roanne will play against the league's second-placed Charleville-Mezieres (#2) and hope to secure a win.
