Regular Season Round 17: Denain - Poitiers 68-72

There was an upset when higher ranked Denain Voltaire (9-8) lost at home to fourteenth ranked Poitiers (7-10) 72-68 on Friday. The guests trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 47-37 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Poitiers forced 20 Denain Voltaire turnovers. American swingman Drake Reed (194-87, college: Austin Peay St., agency: Inception Sports) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds. Senegalese center Youssoupha Fall (221-95) contributed with 10 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Darnell Harris (184-86, college: La Salle) answered with 12 points and Ivorian-American swingman Charles Abouo (196-89, college: BYU) added 10 points in the effort for Denain Voltaire. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Poitiers moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with St Quentin and Maurienne. Loser Denain Voltaire dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Poitiers will face higher ranked Charleville-Mezieres (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
