Regular Season Round 23: Quimper - Lourdes 76-82

The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Quimper UJAP (17-6) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by seventh ranked Lourdes-Tarbes (12-11) 82-76. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Quimper UJAP. Quimper UJAP trailed by 15 points after 3 quarters before a 26-17 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-82 at the end of the game. Lourdes-Tarbes forced 19 Quimper UJAP turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for the former international point guard Xane d'Almeida (181-83) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international center Ludovic Vaty (206-88, college: Moraine Valley CC) helped adding 23 points. Four Lourdes-Tarbes players scored in double figures. American forward Dwight Burke (202-86, college: Marquette) responded with 19 points and 6 rebounds and Ukrainian forward Vyacheslav Bobrov (201-92) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Quimper UJAP's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Lourdes-Tarbes maintains seventh place with 12-11 record. Quimper UJAP at the other side still keeps top position with six games lost. They share it with Caen and Souffel. Lourdes-Tarbes are looking forward to face SAP Vaucluse (#15) in Sorgues in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Quimper UJAP will play on the road against Vendee Challans (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
