Regular Season Round 24: Boulogne - Bourg 86-77

Date: March 25, 2017
The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked JL Bourg (17-7) in Boulogne-sur-Mer on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by seventeenth ranked SO Maritime Boulogne (9-15) 86-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of JL Bourg. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 26-19. But JL Bourg won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Teddy Gipson (191-80, college: Arkansas, agency: Court Side) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 5 assists and center Adolphe-Michel Jean-Baptiste (206-79) who added 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four SO Maritime Boulogne players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American center Zachery Peacock (203-87, college: Georgia Tech) with a double-double by scoring 27 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Senegalese center Youssou Ndoye (213-91, college: St.Bonaventure) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. JL Bourg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SO Maritime Boulogne moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Maurienne. JL Bourg at the other side still keeps top position with seven games lost. SO Maritime Boulogne is looking forward to face Aix-Maurienne (#16) in Aix-les-Bains in the next round. JL Bourg will play at home against Boulazac Basket (#7) and is hoping to win this game.
