Regular Season Round 5: Rouen - Fos-Provence 82-88

Very expected game when 13th ranked SPO Rouen (1-4) lost at home to seventh ranked Provence Basket (3-2) 88-82 on Friday. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 46-38 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Provence Basket made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Bahamas forward Jaraun Burrows (203-85, college: IPFW) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international forward Tariq Kirksay (199-79, college: Iona, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American Amin Stevens (203-90, college: Florida A&M) answered with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and naturalized Ivorian forward Remi Dibo (201-91, college: W.Virginia, agency: Octagon Europe) added 16 points in the effort for SPO Rouen. Five Provence Basket and four SPO Rouen players scored in double figures. SPO Rouen's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Provence Basket moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Blois and Saint-Chamond. Loser SPO Rouen dropped to the fourteenth position with four games lost. Provence Basket will face ALM Evreux (#15) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. SPO Rouen will play against Sluc Nancy and hope to win that game.
