Regular Season Round 16: Nantes - Poitiers 75-83

An interesting game took place in Nantes, where higher ranked Nantes (6-10) lost at home to fifteenth ranked Poitiers (5-11) 75-83 on Friday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-10. But Nantes won second period 29-24. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Poitiers made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. American-Dominican guard Anthony Goods (191-87, college: Stanford, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 34 points (!!!) for the winners. American power forward Ron Anderson (205-89, college: S.Florida, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds. Poitiers' coach Rudy Nelhomme used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Naturalized Ivorian swingman Guy-Landry Edi (202-88, college: Gonzaga) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard Jamar Diggs (188-88, college: Wofford, agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Four Nantes players scored in double figures. Poitiers moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Aix-Maurienne and Vichy Clermont. Nantes lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with ten games lost. Poitiers will face bottom-ranked Quimper UJAP (#18) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
