Regular Season Round 19: CFBB - Challans 66-112

Bottom-ranked CFBB is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 19th consecutive match to tenth ranked Vendee Challans (10-9) 112-66 on Saturday evening. Vendee Challans dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to CFBB's 28 and had 35 for 49 from the free-throw line, while CFBB only scored seventeen points from the stripe. They outrebounded CFBB 40-16 including a 31-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. Vendee Challans looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by CFBB's players. It was an exceptional evening for point guard Paul Turpin (190-93) who led the winners and scored 14 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Swingman Dominique Gentil (197-88, agency: Octagon Europe) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Five Vendee Challans players scored in double figures. Guard Milan Barbitch (185-1) came up with 17 points (made all of his eight free throws) and guard Timothe Crusol (185-1) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively for CFBB in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Vendee Challans moved-up to sixth place, which they share with La Charite and Lorient. Loser CFBB still closes the standings. Vendee Challans will meet at home SAP Vaucluse (#14) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CFBB will play against Saint-Quentin (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
